47-55 Advance-Design 31xx trucks:
I think that in all years the 3104 pickup had the tail pipe go straight out the rear.
Some years panel-body trucks had the tail pipe go out the side, behind the driver's side rear tire.
Maybe someone can post a link to a pertinent illustration in the Factory Assembly Manual?
