Pullman Manufacturing makes the cable retractor (
http://pullmanmfg.com/standard.html) which may be cheaper. You will need specialized wound aircraft cable which I bought from the company in California which sells tri-year Chevy parts only. It is the Nomad tailgate cable with ball swaged on the end, but you will have to have the cable shortened to the proper length and then reswaged.
