why not just get the right parts and fix it properly? readily available from the vendors and I think you'd be less likely to get a jam between gears

Well...I do not really like the design of "the right parts' in this instance.
I do not know why they did it that way using the little Buttons or Nubs under inside Spring Tension.
I realized also, I would prefer a much shrter Shift Lever than the Factory one.
However, if I were to keep things 'stock', what Venders would have replacement Spring and 'Nubs'?
Any idea?
Spring was pretty messed up in mine...I did try and correct it last June, but, all in all, a new Spring would be good ( and one or both 'Nubs' also ).
