no, the engine wants warm [not hot] air, especially when it's humid, the air velocity thru the carb causes the cold humidity to form ice - if you have any wreckers around with older iron, check them for any air cleaners with that thermostatic inlet under the snout, the rest can be fabricated easily .... but you may even find you're OK without
