Hoff, I am always happy to read a post by someone who gets these ol' babes fired up so easily on such cold mornings. I have resolved my timing issue which was apparently the cause of my starting problems. I have concluded, after ruling out everything else, and based on various indications, that I have bad timing gear(s) and we will be swapping them out this week. Can't wait. Up until a couple months ago, my babe would start up if I just put my finger on the starter button. I am assuming you don't have any heaters on your truck overnight? I am a real fan of a battery warmer, oil pan warmer, block heater, etc. Here, in Brooklyn, I used these items on my vehicles back in the day before the computerized cars. I would use them from fall to spring and I was always happy with the benefits. The car warms up fast and you are good to go in a moment. But it is good to hear that these trucks will start up in 24 deg. cold even without the heater stuff. Obviously, you have to keep the truck properly tuned and cared for. {PS: Do you think anyone really knows what you are doing when you use hand signals? They might think you are nuts, lol.}
