A few of the oldtimers I worked around in the 1950's had a home-brew tool made from a box end wrench bent into a rectangle shape to straddle the intake, with a socket welded onto the open-end part to plug the torque wrench into. Everybody else's approach was "Give 'em a good grunt- - - -what's a torque wrench?"
