Got the stainless front pipes back from the bender, Finally.
Now the Fentons are connected to the dual inlet/outlet Dynamax. The one with the internal X pipe.
Sounds Really Great!
Quiet at idle, mellow at steady throttle, and a really nice BrrrrrrrrP when you add power.
Powerful but no bark.
The dynamax mounts great on the original muffler mount, just made a new strap. A couple of short sweeps for outlet pipes.
Now that I can hear the engine, no bad noises. Got the carbs basically balanced, idle mixtures set. Don't have a tach on it yet but gut feeling about 550 rpm idle.
Think the timing is pretty good - 18" vacuum.
There is no timing marks on the flex plate. I put a notch in the damper pully and mark on the front cover before I put the head on. Have to see what that looks like when I put a timing light on it.
Tomorrow re-torque the head, re-set the valves, dump the oil then play with timing a bit. No temp gauge yet (haven't redone the gauge clusters yet) but return hose felt good.
