I I plan on using the original style master cylinder with the disc/drum portioning valve in it so that i don't have to deal with changes. I might upgrade in the future to dual master cylinders.

That won't work, you have to change to the dual master cylinder with the disk brake swap. The proportioning valve only works with a dual system.
