While doing a bit of Research, I found this Post from November of last year, in regards to a Question about 6 volt Starters:
After 30 seconds of continuous cranking, a starter needs a 20-minute cool down period to avoid damage from overheating when another cranking attempt is made. If you're spending more than 10 seconds cranking the engine, it's time for a tune up- - - -no reason to grind away if it doesn't start. As the cranking speed slows down from a weak battery or poor connections, the high current flow through the starter windings will melt it down due to not enough inductive reactance.

I'll make sure I follow your Advice regarding the Connections and such, but I'm thinking that maybe all my Start Attempts on the Blue Funk may well have worn out the Starter.
