Don't shoot me if this reply shows up twice. I tried to reply using my phone, but it didn't show up-----
Hotrod, This truck had been stored in a steel storage container for a few years offering no ventilation or light. When I bought it last fall, all the brakes were frozen. To get her running again, I replaced the ignition switch, plugs, points, condenser, plug wires, and went through the entire brake system. I did drive it about 10 miles in the mid fall before storing it for the winter. Do you think it would be possible to clean the brushes and other contacts in the starter or just go with the rebuild for reliability? Do you think going to a 12 volt system at this time would help in it's reliability?
Thanks for the advice you have already provided.
