Hotrod, this truck had been stored in a steel shipping container for a few years and was subjected to a moist, lightless environment for a few years. When I bought it last fall all the brakes were frozen and I had to replace the ignition switch and clean several contacts to get her started again. I did drive it after a couple of months or careful corrective measures and parts including battery, points, condenser, plugs, wires, and the list goes on. Do you think it would be possible to clean the contacts in the starter? (Brushes, and any other contacts or just have it gone over) do you feel this would be a time to consider going to 12 volts or is that nt necessary? I thank you for the advice you have already provided.
