I think having the muffler as far back as possible (along with a larger pipe, maybe) contributes a lot towards reducing the "rap". I have a three chamber (?) flowmaster I got off a truck I bought on my 250 six right now with it all the way the end of the pipe, and it has a real nice deep diesel-like rumble with no "rap" (actually rattles all the windows and other loose objects hanging on the truck at 1,000RPM or so). I may post a little clip if I have one.

Also: "What I have is a Whoop Whoop sound..." lol, I love it.
