Thanks Brad and Don, that helps. I know we get a lot of incomplete answers on this board and sometimes confusing responses. My intention is to give accurate answers and when I find myself giving wrong information I try and rectify it. I thought I had seen 48 cabs with the groove, in fact I sold one. But body tags get changed and I may have identified it incorrectly.

Brad, It's obvious that you have had the parts to confirm what you say as have I. I have a garage full of Suburban/Panel/Canopy Express parts that I have purchased/removed or confiscated before they went to the crusher. I have been a member on here since 1999 and have spent more time searching then I wish to say.

For some, the SB is a joke because of misinformation. I read that on a similar site constantly and we have members on both sites that know what I am talking about. I try and do my part to be informative and accurate to dispel those comments, I will never be successful, but that's my goal. I enjoy the knowledge of people like you that do have minutia details about these trucks, because of these details people can avoid costly mistakes or wasted time figuring out what they did wrong.

I am compiling pictures to identify lot's of differences throughout out the 47/55 1/2 ton models to assist me and others in this hobby. We have several bolters' that have done the same and I have mentioned to Peggy that we should have a Stovebolt Cave for archiving these differences and making a pictorial retrieval system. We could also have some of the best posts discussions there for others to see instead of having to search thousands of documents not find this information. But as we all know, it takes time and someone who can do it, it's not fair to push it on Peggy who is already on overload.
