Thanks Don, I can see from your pictures the non-indent on the dash. Do you have a better picture without the steering column? Do you have a picture of the original gauges mounting tabs? I know they are different than the 1948. Is the cowl indent smaller or just where it mounts to the dash, for some reason I thought you could tell the 1947 from viewing the mast hole from inside the engine compartment.
Do you know if the 1948 shared the same smooth (no groove rain drip) cowl as the 1947? Do you know when they changed it?
I had forgotten that they had push open instead of pull open door openers. Since it never had a mounted shifter column, the holes for the mounting will not be present either. The mounting bracket will be a one year only too. or will it?
