Good luck answering that one. I have been doing this many times longer and many times more money, and what keeps me going is...
1) Don't set a date as to when you should be done with your project. Take ALL the time there is and then some. By relaxing, getting done whatever you have time for, and setting lower expectations for the timeframe, you will do a better job and probably with less money because you are giving yourself time to think things through. Ask about stuff here a lot. These guys are so helpful.
2) By taking things slower, you can afford to put more money into it. Use what funds you have more wisely, and because you aren't expecting things to be done NOW, you can save for the bigger expenditures. Make a list of the higher cost items, spread it out over the years.
3) If you have a passion for these trucks, like I do, there is no amount of time or expense. I don't have much money either, but time is the great equalizer. I have a wonderful shop these days and the tools to do the job right, and the key is be in NO hurry. Lots of guys richer than I have a lot less knowledge and ability to really solve problems. Big mouth, no show. Slow and steady wins the race.. and how you eat an elephant one bite at a time.
Oh, and be REALLY nice to your wife. :P
