The 4.03 1st gear would give you around 12. The Camaro 2.95 X 3.08 would barely make 9. The tire size will make a little difference too. I would think the S10 4.03 would not be too low.

For example: With 28" tires and a 3.08 rear, then you could reach a speed of 20 MPH before shifting. RPMs would be at 2979 at 20 MPH in 1st gear.
