Just use the original bracket with a long bolt, and a piece of pipe or thickwall tubing as a spacer. A bit of measuring and a hacksaw, and a few flat washers if necessary should get the job done. I have used "all-thread" rod and flat washers to mount an alternator, but a spacer to hide the threads looks a little more professional.
