Remove the 10 bolts & the cover. Drain all the old gear oil. Most of the old oil will run out when you remove the bottom bolts & filler plug. If you find no metal pieces in bottom you're probably good to go and can forgo kerosene flush. Clean all the surfaces & bolts with solvent & dry. Scrap & remove all old gasket debris. Assemble with bead of permatex ultra black on cover & around bolt holes. Original assembly used gasket, but it is not necessary with todays sealants. Original gear oil was 90w but I replaced with 85w-140. Capacity is 2.25 qts.
