I would like to make my own tailgate support chains. I have a new tailgate. In fact the truck has new paint and just about finished at the body shop. I'm sure someone here has some tips as to what to use, or does it make more sense to just buy a set? Along with the chain size and ends, what are folks using for the protective cover? I think something flexible but durable?
