Cletis is right on!! These ol trucks worked for years and years on 6v,,,just as they were designed to do. BUT,,usually,somewhere along the line someone replaces a battery cable with the wrong size. Then the problems start.
With good clean grounds,and the proper size cables,,we're talkin diameter,and length,, it should work like it was designed to work.
Just talkin from past experience........
