And that is what I meant in my first post, Brendan. The lights are drawing their specific amount of power, but if the wires happen to be undersized so they are heating, they will draw some current too. Maybe not much, but a little. And electric heat is an inefficient form of energy, so the loss in the wires might be considerable.
And I am still curious about charging car batteries with trickle chargers.
