| | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 283 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 283 | Is the shifter housing (the one on the steering column above the steering box) lubricant just like axle grease or is there something special that goes in there? I popped the cap to look inside after I saw a bunch of old dried up crud underneath the housing. Inside looks pretty dry - a little hardened white lubricant stuck to the underside off the cap. Not having trouble shifting (except once in a while going into 3rd, goes - just have to double clutch once in a while), just got curious while cleaning crud from below. Did not see any spec in the manual for lubricant for this housing. Oh, 56 235, column w/OD Thanks, Dale | | |
