1950 Chev truck
Owned since new by my wife’s family
Has been sitting outside for 45 years so the condition went from running when parked to rough
I have had it in my possession since 2010
I am doing a total tear down and rebuild to a driver truck I am putting a 2000 GMC Jimmy frame and drive train.
I am about half done the build

First, I want to welcome you to the Stovebolt forums. You’ve made some great progress and it look’s great.

The HiPo forum, is right up your alley for questions.

I really like the color on your truck. Can you tell me what is it?

I want to join in and don’t want to to be in the wrong forum. Which one do I go to to report progress and post pictures? I have never been involved in a forum before.

Djg,

Here's the Welcome Centre that Phak1 mentioned.

Why not read a few of the posts in there and see what people are writing. The WC is usually a little about your truck and you. How you found it. Anything special about it. About you. Always want pictures there (actually as many as you can share in any place!).

To tell about what you are doing on the truck, we have a What Did you get done on your truck today thread in the General Truck Talk forum. That's a good place to get more acquainted with the site.

Of course, most of your truck questions will go in The Shops area. Try to post one question at a time. That way the question can be directed to the appropriate shop if needed.

And if you have questions about the computer or navigating the site, we have an IT Shortbus and it's a good place to post those.

Welcome. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it all.

When you click on the "date" in the right hand corner, it pulls up a map of the poster. (I just found that about two weeks ago. cantlook)

The link with the location that is also in right hand corner, but under "Posts:" is a different map and in my case, has some info about the locale.

This may come in handy as you connect with folks. wink

Hey Kevinski
I might be wrong on the model of my truck I said it was a 3100. However it was made in Canada so that would make it a 1300. Would it not?

Just had rivets where the emblem would be. Can’t seem to locate 1300 emblems so I am going with 3100 emblems.

What a beautiful bed. From the looks of the photos, did you place it in the frame of the bed first and then pull it out to stain it?
