1- After I purchased the 3100 I had to replace the headlight switch. Is it normal for the park lights to turn off when I turn my headlights on? Park light work fine when switch is in park (half pull) position?
2- Is it normal for my high beam indicator to come on when I turn on my headlights for (low beam)? The high beam indicator brightness increases when I switch to the high beams.

Headlights and park lights do not burn at the same time. 2 - Are you sure that the high beam indicator is burning when the lights are on Low or on Park? The outside of the bulb or the lens may be illuminated by the lamps in the speedo cluster and look like the bulb is burning dimly. (That's what happens in my '54). Remove the socket from the speedo housing. Clip a ground wire to it and see if it comes on with the park lights or the low beam headlights. You can see the interior of the speedometer here - http://rustyfiftyone.com/gremlin-hunting/ - there is a tube around the high beam bulb to isolate the light. Lonnie is, of course, also correct regarding the parking lamp light.
Headlights are used when you are driving.
Parking lamps are used when you are parking/standing.
In the "old days", it was illegal to drive with parking lamps on.
