I am also electrically challenged. I have a stock 52 chevy, 12 volt. Put in new gas gauge. Wire from sending unit goes to which post on gauge, one nearest to E or F on the face? Other wire to ignition, correct?

I installed a new 12v gas gauge from The Truck Shop in my '54 this week. The gauge should be marked with a "+" for the lead to the ign sw and with an "S" for the lead to the sender. The "+" on my gauge is behind EMPTY and the "S" is behind FULL.
Sand the cluster housing behind the gas gauge to clean metal. The back of the gauge needs to ground to the housing.
