I recently bought a fuel pump with a vacuum for my '55 first series 3100, but I don't know how to connect the vacuum to the wiper blades. can someone point me in the right direction?

The vacuum inlet and outlet holes on the fuel pump might be in different places/orientations on different double action (dual action) fuel pumps. The inlet/outlet might be labelled but some pumps have no labels near the inlet/outlet. Also, different pumps might have different words as labels. So, it is hard to give an answer for your specific pump.

However, check the results of these searches for examples of how people have plumbed their double/dual action fuel pumps. The good news is that you can test the few possible combinations to see which one works (and you cannot harm anything, if you are wrong).

In general, a pipe/hose runs from the (wiper motor) vacuum fitting on the intake manifold to a fuel pump vacuum line fitting; and, another pipe/hose is run from the other fuel pump vacuum line fitting to the vacuum wiper motor.

"In" of the vacuum pump goes to the wiper. "Out" goes to the manifold. If you're not sure which is which, operate the pump manually.

I'm looking at having to hook up vacuum wipers on my 53 1/2ton The truck has a 1962 261 engine with a single stage mechanical fuel pump. There is are two vacuum taps into the intake just below the carburetor. One of them has a hose from the breather pipe and the other is unused. I assume that unused tap can be used for the wipers. If I am in error on that please set me straight.

Look in the 54 assembly manual and there are pictures of how its plumbed.
