I had a thought as I strolled through the junk yard and saw the seats in a late 90 ford ½ ton. “chop them off , and they would work”. $75.00 bucks later, I owned ‘em.

Installed them and never liked the headrest – at all. Since I have the while I’m at its this week, I skinned ‘em tonight. I had planned on cutting/shaping/welding the framework before I took them to the guy that’s gonna cover ‘em (black leather and fabric). I figured it would take a week or so as slow as I am.

I am one happy asshat. These seats are comfortable and when chopped off will match the back window perfectly – for me. Now, it’s gonna be easy…

Great idea....never though about bobbing the obnoxious high backs. Was curious what the total width of the seats was? I've been looking for some upgrades for a 54 which is about 55-57". Seems like everything is either too narrow or too wide. Wonder if the same thing could be done to the center section, under the arm rest?

Just like you, I don't like headrests. I'll be looking for seats later this year and will remove the headrests for sure.

Hey guys, I was just talking to an upholsterer friend last weekend. He said that the Ranger bench seat works great in the AD trucks. I've heard that before. Probably gonna use them in my 51 when I get to that stage.

around 89 Chev truck 60/40 [57"] works well in the TF truck

yea, that looks good but i wanted the fold down center console.

Update - just installed the seats ( ~ 58" wide).

This is the first pic after install. I took a few others that I can post later.

Overall, I am very happy with the fit and look of these seats. It was a very straight forward install and a good fit for a task force series.

Hey, do the bolts line up to install the seats or did you have to create new mounts? I have been thinking about putting some in my 1965 chevy c10

I made new mounts.

I used square tube. bolted one end to teh floor and the other to the seat.

Here's a bump because this comes up every now and again.

I have some Sebring convertible seats left over from my daily driver, a '97 Sebring Conv. I was thinking of using them sinse thay have built in shoulder harnesses. I do like that center piece thou from the truck seats..looks comfy Vette.

hey guys I have and orginal 57 truck seat, its been recovered with a terquiose roll and pleat, but the seat is in great shape.. any one interested.
