From Nathan :

Hi. I wanted to add my Chevy truck to the Gallery. I own a 1965 Chevrolet C-10. My truck is currently not in very good condition but when I saw it, I had to buy it.

I am 23 years old and when I was a little kid, I grew up going on several trips with my Grandma in a 1965 C-10. My Grandpa passed away when I was two years old and his “Old Chevy” helped me stay connected to him.

A few years ago my Grandpa's Chevy truck was passed to my Aunt. She eventually had to sell her home, so she gave the truck away to a stranger. I had wanted that truck all of my life, so that was a pretty hard loss for me.

One day, as I was trying to track down my Grandpa's truck, I came across an ad on Craigslist for a 1965 Chevy C-10 for $700. My wife kept saying she had a bad feeling about me getting it, but I begged (a little) and she said "Yes!"

When I found the truck, it did not have a bed on it. It had some weird looking extra frame on top of the original frame. It looked like there was, maybe at one time, a flat bed put on it. (Passenger side)

I bought the truck quickly, after doing a test drive, and drove it home to find out that the lights, signals, and nothing else really worked. The good thing I can say is that it does have a newer GM 350 Vortec engine in it and it shifts and drives well.

So far, I have put a bed on it and bought a bumper that is currently in the back of the truck. I have fixed the lights, and also bought A/C vents from another Stovebolter to fill in the space inside the truck. The engine has been cleaned up and I also installed an extra fuse box under the hood to do any adds ons. I have put a CD player and speakers in.

The truck now has a new Edelbrock Air filter and air breather on top of the valve cover, as well as new spark plugs and a new battery. My truck came with original A/C and power steering. Currently, all of the A/C system has been taken out except for the box under the dash and the lines going out to the engine. (Dash)

I have the power steering box on the truck and will be getting the power steering pump put in shortly.

Although this truck is not the same truck as my Grandpa's, I am falling in love with it and I am looking forward to my long journey ahead in having a head turner.

Thank you,

Nathan Dennis
