On second look, I think i see a lot of hidden/disguised rust.

With the front fenders (they look like GMC fenders), grille and lower radiator apron damage, I would not describe that as a "good buy" at the asking price. If I was in the market (which I'm not) I might go as high as $4k.

Yeah - I see a lot of less then quality work on top of the damage, with screwed down patch panels on the cab floor, what looks like unfinished repairs on the drivers side of cab in front of the door, single sheet of exterior siding for the bed covering who knows what???

I'd be a big "Nope" at the asking price.

I didn't notice the damage on the driver's side cowl. Caused by what's known out in the Aleutians as "Shemya Door" (when the wind folds the door forward as you unlatch it.) And the T1-11 siding for the bed floor. I wouldn't be surprised if that pale blue is house paint.
I'm revising my price estimate way down from what I said earlier. Still not in the market.

It's all good sir! Won't be the first and certainly not the last truck that someone thinks is worth way more than it really is.

Who knows, maybe the seller will have a brief flash of wisdom (yeah right - hahaha!) and adjust the price to something more in the reality zone. One can hope anyhow, as there is likely to be some value at least for someone.

I wouldn’t sweat too much about posting it, we "Bolters" need something to critique to make us feel better about how much money and sweat we’ve invested in our own trucks!

Honestly, if it’s truly a running and stopping truck, the asking price is really not that unreasonable. I paid a lot more for a non-running truck that had a rebuilt motor (complete with receipts from a supposable reputable machine shop), only to turn around and have to rebuild anyway. And the body on mine looked pretty good until I started peeling back the layers of paint and truly saw the extent of rusted-out panels underneath.

The reality is that a lot of the members on this site are in our senior years, and we tend to get major sticker shock compared to what we were able to buy these trucks for just a few years ago. The prices of these trucks have skyrocketed recently.

That being said, there is still a lot of bodywork and no doubt mechanical work needed on that truck, which is not unlike most of the projects that belong to the members on this site.

It's all good. If I was to post what I paid for my rust bucket, I'd probably be laughed off the forum.
But in my defense, I needed a project to keep me off the streets in retirement. On that account, it worked.
