I am adding a cigarette (accessory socket) to my '52. I would like to wire as would have been done originally. Anyone know for sure or can point me some literature/wiring diagram?

Original-equipment connection point would have been at the back of the ammeter, on the same terminal post as the supply wire for the ignition switch and the Bat. lead from the voltage regulator. Be aware that the connection will be unfused, and shorted cigarette lighter wiring has been the cause of a LOT of under-dash fires. Even if it's not purist stock, I'd recommend a 30 amp inline fuse in that wire. To make it look a little more original, use the round black holder for a glass-tube fuse.

I have done my cigarette lighter as Jerry described, connecting the element lead to a post on the ammeter or the ignition switch; however, the accessories installation instructions connect to a leads on the light switch (lighter and light).

I ordered and used the Airtex plug Harold46 linked above.
this is after I fried the lighter trying to wire with a standatd terminal.

I wired to the ignition terminal with a fuse as suggested.

Thanks everyone. I thought the light switch was probably the right answer and now confirmed. In this instance, the switch is simply used as a terminal block and no added load is put on the switch, so I am ok in wiring it up this way for always "on" power at the lighter socket.
