Thank You for your advice Longhorn | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy Longhorn, 10" clutches were standard on up to one ton trucks for years, and with the use you describe you shouldn't have any problems. If the bellhousing in question is already in the truck, then everything should bolt up okay, I seem to remember some of the six cylinder bellhousings had a smaller transmission pilot hole, but as I said if its already bolted into the truck, should be no problem, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,544 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,544 | As 3B says you should be fine. Less pedal pressure with the smaller pressure plate should make it nicer to drive in stop and go traffic. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 725 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 725 | What you want to do is stock for many applications. The bell housing will bolt right up to both engine and transmission if it is there now. the rear mount of the engine is the bell housing anyway. This would be a great time to switch to a cable type throttle out a mid '70s and up C-10 to eliminate linkage problems.
best wishes,
