Thanks for your help with my head lights now it my tail lights. My brakes and turn signals work however my running lights do not. If I connect a constant hot wire to my hot wire will that do the trick???

If you want to run your battery down. It should feed off of your light switch so it's switchable. Sounds like you have a broken wire or bad switch. I had a similar problem on my old 55.1 panel. I didn't have the money for a new HL switch so I put a toggle switch on the dash to turn my taillight on & off.

I've done that before too.

Why not troubleshoot the system rather than throwing random fixes at it hoping to cure the problem by magic?

Is there power at the tail light terminal of the switch? Is there continuity between the terminal of the wire at the switch and the terminal at the lights? Are the lights properly grounded?

Like Tiny said, Find the problem and fix it. Patching in a new wire over an old problem causes nothing but more trouble.
