For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 64 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 64 | I have a couple of instrument clusters and need a bit of info before I put them up for sale. On one the ammeter is D & C on the other 50 plus to 50 minus. Oil pressure is different also, as are the lengths of the gage needles. Photos at: http://s1155.photobucket.com/user/highiron1950/library/instrument%20clusters?sort=3&page=1 I am concerned that these may have been assembled from parts and don't want to mislead anyone. Some help please? Thanks

It looks like they are the same/similar colors? Someone else will have to comment on the years (if any) that GMC and Chevrolet had the same background-color gauges (maybe 52-53?). It looks like one oil pressure is 0-60 (for GMC?) and the other is 0-30 (Chevrolet). Maybe someone put an 0-60 Chevrolet after-market oil-pressure gauge in that cluster? | | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 289 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2007 Posts: 289 | My 52 GMC gauges are the same color as the Chevy but the giveaway that at least the oil pressure gauge is GMC is the 60 lb oil pressure. Another difference is GMC in 52 labeled the cluster surround below the gas gauge as "fuel" not "gasoline" - if you have the surround.
