Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,124 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,124 | I am missing the seat that fits on top of the spring and below the ball on the gear shift lever. The drawing in the Master Parts Catalog (1929-1948) page 188, shows the piece (4.027 SEAT). I can not tell from that if it is somewhat cone shaped and concave on the inside and convex on the outside. I may have found the part I need, but the vendors photos appear to show it to be shaped more like a brass thick washer. He does not know if the part is correct either.
Anyone have any photos of Group Number 4.027, part number 590868?
Thanks

Should be the second item pictured. It won't let me link directly to the page... I haven't ordered it or taken apart my floor shift 3 speed so I'm not 100% sure its the part you are looking for but its my best guess. Not to high jack your thread, but if you are doing a rebuild did you order a kit or just going to a bearing shop and matching the bearings from there? I'm planning on rebuilding mine pretty soon and am looking at pricing parts. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,124 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,124 | Bolter Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. The tranny was rebuilt by the PO. He's passed and I bought his unfinished project from his widow. She didn't know anything about the rebuild details. Sorry. | | |
