The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop color sand imron?

I sprayed my cab and doors with Imron, it turned out pretty good but have a couple of spots that look kind of dry. I am getting conflicting input on if I can color sand and polish this paint. Anyone have any luck or not in doing this? I am starting to wonder if it was a good idea to use this product? Thanks Scott

Are you using the 3.5 HG? I havent sprayed enough of it yet where Ive had to buff it. You should be able to, it's not scratch resistant, & I dont think you will burn through that quickly. Try a small area & see how it buffs.
When spraying Imron, dont be afraid to get in close & put it on wet, you can plow that stuff on & you wont get runs.

Yes it is the 3.5HG. I am curious about what grit sand paper (1500 grit?) and what type of buffing pad and compound. This is kind of new to me. Thanks Scott

1500 is ok, I like 2000 for normal de nib & final sanding. We use #3M extra cut compound in our shop. I prefer the foam pad over wool, I get less swirl marks with the foam.
