Engine runs good is full of fresh 10w30, seems quiet and is getting oil to the head as I pulled the valve cover to adjust the valves after cranking for a bit and it's got fresh oil up there. I cant get a reading at the gauge. Gauge is T'd right at the side of the filter. I'm wondering if we don't have the oil lines to the filter reversed? I'm thinking the rear most port on the side of the engine is pressure and the center one is return?

The pressure source is 2/3 of the way toward the back of the engine, about 4 inches above the oil pan rail. The return port to the crankcase is just above the pan rail, and is about 6 inches further forward than the pressure port. Have you tried using a direct-reading gauge attached to the engine without the filter connected to see what pressure is available? Jerry

The fitting or the tube may be stopped up. They are pretty small orifices. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Go figure. Maybe air in the gauge line from sitting since September. | | |
