Hello all,
I have a 53 3100 with a 235. I am using the original transmission and torque tube driveshaft. I have a leak coming from the rear of the trans. I read in the Chevy manual that I am supposed to shim the coupling? Is it supposed to leak from the rear of the trans? It looks like it is coming from a seal where the spline slides in. Now, I am not sure if I need to replace this seal or should there be gear oil in the coupling?
Thanks

If you are referring to leaks around the cover for the u-joint, the adjustment for the u-joint ball seals is described in the Shop Manual .
