I also don't like that it id glued in the fitting for the exit of the block going up to the head. Anyone know were a fitting could be had like the one on the left side of the block? I may just machine one out of a plug.

That nut is a one-time-use item. If someone tries to use it again coolant will leak into the crankcase in most situations. There is another way to run the line- - - -IM me for instructions, it involves modifying some brass fittings. Jerry
