#99373 02/19/2007 5:28 PM | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 83 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 83 | hi all , i have a new wiring harness for the 39 chev , master85 . the original wire runs up along the roofline - drivers side ( under the headliner ) . i do not want to remove the headliner & wreck or disturb it . options 1. cut holes in floor , run along frame , cut hole in trunk & bring up . option 2. run wire on the floor of interior . i'm concerned about the frame route because of weather & possible heat from exhaust . & the floor route , will just clutter up the floor . any learned comments are very welcomed . frank | | |

I'd expect any wire in the headliner area would only be for an interior light, tail lights were usually run along the frame, attached securely with clips
is the original wire in the headliner still there? if so you should be able to attach the new wire to it and pull it thru, usually wires there are just laying in the space along the side above the doors

The 5 or 6 wires fit into a 3/4" dia. split loom wiring harness. I pop-rivetted the harness clamps to the frame. You can pull out the individual wires thru the split where you need them. No issues with my dual exhaust. I mounted my box on the passenger side kick panel area - drilled the firewall and the floor boards to run front and back. | | |
