The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop '54 toe board brace?

We're in the process of assembling a '54 3100 that came to us in pieces. As usual, some are missing.
Anyway, on the driver's side there's a heavy brace running along the toe board from the floor pan up to the bottom of the firewall. It bolts to the floor pan and the toe board and it looks like the inner fender will bolt to it when we get that far.
The passenger side doesn't have this brace, and doesn't seem to even have the holes for the brace to bolt to.
I looked at my wife's '54 panel and near as I can tell under the dirt, that brace doesn't seem to be there on the passenger side of that truck either.
Is that correct?

Correct, no brace on the passenger side. The brace on the drivers side is mainly for the parking brake mechanism. The brace also is where the inner fender mounts. On the passenger side, the inner fender has captured nuts and bolts directly to the toeboard from the inside of the cab.

There is no inner-fender bracket/brace on the passenger side. The bolts go though holes in the floor, on that side.

On the driver's side is an attachment bracket ( fender skirt/parking brake brace ) that is also part of the parking brake assembly. It has captive nuts into which you put the bolts to attach the inner fender.

Ok, that's what I thought after looking at my panel, but it never hurts to ask.
