Is this a tough job with the closed driveline? | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,903 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,903 | Why do you want to replace it. If its a spiral bevel, they are noisy by nature, but will run forever if you keep lubricant in them. | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 430 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 430 | If you have not done a R&P before this should not be your first one. I'll explain a little more. Be it on this rear end or one out of a Mustang you have to get everything set correctly. This is a must. Correct pinion depth, correct ring gear location, etc. If your going to try it for the first time.... Try it something that parts are cheap and available for. Not a 63 year old heavy duty truck!
I have done around 6 R&P's in the last 15 years. It always takes a lot more time than I think. I can imagine that there are enough big truck shops in California that could handle this job and take the worry out of your head as to if it is done correctly. | | |
