It's been running great and starting up on the first crank since I finished the project two years ago. Last night the temps here dropped dramatically. It's in the low 20s here right now. With the key on, the starter sounds funny, like it's kind of spinning. With the key off, starter sounds normal. I can get it to start, but it will only stay running if I keep my foot on the gas a little. As soon as I let up on the gas, it quits. I haven't touched anything under the hood. The only thing that's changed (as far as I know) is the weather. The weirdest thing is the way the starter sounds. Totally weird with the key on. Normal with the key off. Does this ring a bell for anyone? Thanks.

The first clue was when I pulled the choke out, it didn't feel right: Really loose, like it wasn't connected to anything. I took a look at the throttle linkage and found that the spring had come unhooked and the linkage was all screwed up. I fixed everything the way it's supposed to be and the truck starts right up as always. I have no idea what the weird thing with the starter was, but that's gone, too.
