What is the source of choice for the original "sideways" eyelet connectors?

Are you referring to the electrical connectors that have the fork pointing at a 90 deg angle to the wire? If so those are called flag connectors and should be available at any electical jobber. If not you can get them here. They have a minimum order amount but I don't remember what it is.

Talking about the original wire ends for a 41 era truck. I was thinking they were eyelets, or circular over the posts, but maybe they are fork style. I need to pull the wiring out, but would like to get the parts to rebuild first.

Yep just bought some for from YNZ's last month along with new Wade connectors, correct cloth wire, bullet connectors, etc. They are used on the wire from the coil to the distributor.

Can you give me a little more info on YNZ's, not familar with them. Also I apologize about the earlier lack of info. I alwasy giggle about posts like that and there I go doing it....LOL.

I've also used Rhode Island Wiring Service and can highly recommend them. They have a nice catalog of all their wiring supplies, including the connectors you're looking for.

The Harness business is going the way the exaust systems went 20 years ago. You can't buy the parts as cheaply as having the muffler shop do the whole job. And you can run down the street and have lunch or a cup of coffee while their installing it.

both of those sites have nothing for the 55 2nd trucks. I know classic parts (chevy duty) has a pre fab harness, but will it work on a 1.5 ton? Are the marker lights below the head lights just parking lights, or are they turn signals too? And so would the lights on top of the fenders work with the marker lights in the front or? its a 56 4400 1.5 ton. It has the signal stat turn signal switch on the side of the column.

Chris - the harness is the same for all the conventional cab TF trucks - the parking lights on all TF trucks are dual filament sockets [tail lights too], as there was an optional factory signal setup - your signal stat unit would work fine, you'd just have to adapt the wiring at the column to the plug, and if you want to keep the fender mount lights, split off the turn wire to them, which wouldn't be necessary with the OEM lights working - here\'s a pic of the harness - I'd suggest looking for an original turn switch setup, like in the parts wanted forum

Thanks for the info Bill. So since my truck had the top fender lights, were they like factory turn signals? and would they have been tied into the front marker lights from the factory? And if the truck had thease factory turn signals, why does it have the signal stat untit instead of a factory unit? Is the signal stat unit aftermarket, a dealer option or? Maybe the signal stat was added after the factory setup went bad? If trucks could talk...

the sig stat is aftermarket, put on a truck that wasn't bought new w/ the turn sig option, and pretty common on these old rigs, added years later - because that part is non-OEM, the fender lights will be too, but there was 2 accessory options available, the one that used the parking light RPO987607 and others for flatbed/chassis only trucks that used fender top lights RPO987647 & RPO987643]

you can see in those links the "switch housing" just below the steering wheel that will be there if it had the original signals, with a hole in the side for the lever

and the lights on each side of the grill are the parking lights, which should have the dual element sockets even if it didn't come with the signal setup, marker lights are the ones on the cab roof
