I finally got my 51 home to discover that the "all original" is actually a 46 chassis (8PK110526) with 52 doors and a GM stamp on the motor is a number that doesn't seem to match anything. block stamp 3336704 GM. What the heck did this come out of??

How did you arrive at the idea it is a '46 chassis?

3336704 is the format of a block casting number, not a stamping, However I can find no reference to that number.

Where did you find the 8PK110526?

when you look up that number on the ID plate, it comes up as a 1946. although it could be a 46 cab?

The 1946 cab is distinctly different from the 1951 cab. Which style cab do you have?

8PK110526 could be a 1946 Vehicle Serial Number.
It could be a VSN plate from another truck (taken/used for titling/registration purposes).

8 = Atlanta, GA assembly plant
PK = 1946 4400 truck
I = August
110526 = 110526 - 1000 = 109526th truck out of that plant that model year

What is the code on the motor (pressed into the block just in the ledge to the rear of where the distributor goes into the block). Motors are often replaced.

I think I was mislead when I ran the number as a "VIN". it jumped right to 46 just like you have for the PK. this is where the confusion started.
it is definitely a 47-55 body style. it was sold as a 51 but has the push button door handles that started in 52. I'll have to look tonight for the number behind the distributor. the block number I found was all the way to the front on the distributor side.

the best I can tell without degreasing the block, the number is KBA6089

I presume it's a Chevy, vs. a GMC? Sometimes VIN's are stamped in large letters, outside of R frame rail, near front spring shackle.

KBA = 1952 3100 216 engine and standard clutch

GM did not stamp an ID on the frame on 47-55 Chevrolet trucks. Some states may have required a stamping be placed on the frame (in those years).

I've read rumors that some states titled vehicles by the year sold. That could be why it's titled as a '51.

It could be Cletis. After further investigation and all you guys help, we have determined beyond a shadow of a doubt, it's definitely a 52 with matching engine and chassis. Whew! I don't think I'm going to try and change anything with the DMV though. That would be another whole set of issues! Thanks guys. I am the idiot and you are the genius!
