Did the 60 Apache 10 models have factory turn signals? Mine has turn signals in the steering column,but they don't self cancel unless I'm missing the cam part. The column is chromed so I'm sure that's not original unless it was chromed by a PO. The turn signals are wired also to the 2 orange lights on the dash that say tandem and overdrive.

Yes they did.Even a chrome column can have GM guts.Sounds like the cancel springs are bad.Pull the steering wheel and check the springs R&L and the plastic cancel cam.

The original had the application parts under the stg. wheel & a electrical switch down on the column with a cable going to it. It should cancel. Check for broken or missing parts.

Thanks for the replies. I'll pull the wheel and take a look at it. I put a new steering wheel on and don't remember seeing a canceling cam, but I'll look again.

Another question,my instrument cluster only has one green light on the right side for the turn signals. So I'm assuming this is for both the right and left turn signals?

Yes. I,m not shure how they wired that cause they still use a 2 prong flasher.

Sounds like you have a gauge cluster from a big truck such as a c60.

You mention "tandem and overdrive" as being used for signal indicators or wired to "the two orange lights" also you mention one green indicator for signal lights.

To the best of my knowledge this is more the big bolt configuration.

But that is neither here nor there as far as cancelling is concerned. If you have guts behind the steering wheel the fixes have been noted in other replies and I agree that more than likely you will find a malfunctioning cancelling cam.

If the guts of your system are located in a housing that appears to be part of the signal lever, normally attached to the steering column with a band,take it apart and check the springs,clean and oil all parts and reassemble.

The single green light indicator functions through a different configuration of the wiring harness and uses the same signal stat in the fuse panel.

Thanks again for the replies.I think you're right about the cluster being from a larger truck. I looked again and the orange indicator lights say TAND'M LOCK and OVERSPEED, where the green turn signal indicators should be I'm guessing. Maybe I'll change those lenses to green. Now if I can find a green lens that would be great, I only need one. I ordered a cancelling cam for the turn signals, I don't remember seeing one the last time I replaced the steering wheel.
