The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Making a Stovebolt Bed Truck Bed Rebuild Question

I was surprised when I pulled the bed off of my 52 Chevy half ton, to find that the sides & front of the bed were screwed into wood strips that followed the perimeter of the bed. Is this original or did they build them using small wooden blocks? Any help would be appreciated. Bob

Pictures? There has been some discussion around what was originally installed. I have personally never seen perimeter wood on these beds.
