For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 137 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 137 | The ID tag was painted over when the truck was painted some 35 years ago, and maybe the interior, removable panels as well. So where is a good place to uncover and find some original paint left? What were the OEM colors? It's currently a bronze/gold-tone | | | | | Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 137 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 137 | It's a half ton AK; appears to be mostly original other than the exterior paint - brown fenders and light tan/gold cab/box. Will be pulling the door panels today. | | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,312 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,312 | Maybe behind the fenders on the cab corner - likely didn't pull the fenders off to repaint. ? | | | | | Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 775 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 775 | Front fender underneath against the cab. Clean the dirt off and see what you have. Under the rear fenders the bed side maybe too. There are paint chips of the available colors in 1941. The tag does not give colors so you can paint any OEM if that's what you want. | | |
