My truck is in fact a first series but I am trying to duplicate the truck of my youth which was a 1954 with second series armrests. The tough thing about this is I was certain the bases of the armrests were blue. As far as I can find, no one makes an armrest with a blue base. The Filling station does offer a second series blue armrest DG-23 but I think it's a black base with a blue top. My interior was the two tone deluxe blue, they didn't get special arrests did they? Although I have never seen anything on this I could swear I have seen a few two tone green interior 54-55 trucks with the later looking armrests in green. In fact there is a 55.1 truck on ebay with the deluxe two tone green interior and it has old green 55.2 style armrests in it. Here is a link

there was a custom cab option for 55.2-59 that could have included a 2 tone interior paint scheme, but the color variation for the armrests was the upholstery part, the base would always be black .... could use some plastic paint on them wink

Jim Carter sells the blue and green arm rests for the 54 deluxe interior but the ones I bought from him are way too dark in my opinion. They are a very dark navy blue. I expect to have them recovered. I asked Jim about them personally several years back at a show in Hutchinson KS but he just looked "confused" by my question. Item number UPA228B Arm rests

Classic also has one that shows up much lighter. Classic armrests

Thanks Greg,

I just may paint mine. If there really was a blue 55.2 style then nobody is remaking it so painting is a good option.

Hi Pete,

Recovering the tops is the easy part, finding a blue base is the hard part, however I think I figured out that the ones I am really looking for are 53-54 Chevy car armrests. They came in blue but I find a lot of green ones.

The ID tag was painted over when the truck was painted some 35 years ago, and maybe the interior, removable panels as well. So where is a good place to uncover and find some original paint left? What were the OEM colors? It's currently a bronze/gold-tone.

Start a new post and we can answer your questions, this subject was on blue armrests for a 1955 second series truck, and your question is about interior color of a 1941.

Thanks for the heads up; I started a new thread. Good luck on "Blue". Wish I could help.
