Any ideas on being able to swap from a fleet side to step side on 62-66?? Anybody done that around here??

From a fleet? Fleets are more RARE and more POPULAR and worth more MONEY. Especially short fleet.

Should be a truly easy unbolt and re-bolt swap if you use a 63-66. 60-62's had the x-frame design frames and the bed to frame bolt patterns are different from 63-66.

Maybe true at some point "back in the day" but for 60-66's, in today's market, I don't think that is the case.

A true case of "everything old is new again". Fleetsides are so similar to today's trucks that the stepsides are now perceived as being unique... at least that's my observation on pricing around here. Maybe it's a regional thing.

For a working truck the stepside bed is truly "user friendly". I never knew just how friendly they were till I bought my '65.

In my area, fleets sell for more. May be a factor of regional or rural or traditional. Good info on the 60-62 vs 63-66 bed swap. They will beat his door down to trade him their step for a fleet.

In New England there aren't many at all but it does seem that I see more fleet-sides than step-sides.

I have always liked the step sides over the fleet sides but that's just me.

I've had both over the years. I've always prefered the look of the step side. I bought one of each in a 62 (SS parts truck/FS running basket) and made a step side out of the running fleetside. Since they were the same year, it was a simple swap.
