Hello all,

I wanted to pass along some information regarding sources for 28160 and 28157 wheels (single piece tubeless wheels used as replacements for split rims).

I just spoke with Mike @ www.wheelsnowinc.com and they are offering 28160's for $335/wheel. Now, that is costly for sure and they currently have 10 in stock. Mike stated that they are working with an overseas manufacturer that will build them to their specifications (same as Accuride's) and will then be offering them at a more affordable $200 - $225 for a brand new powder coated 28160. (I didn't ask but I'll assume the 28157's will be similarly priced).

I aslo spoke with the sales manager at www.stevensonwheel.com and while they do not have any 28160's in stock, in 2-3 months they will also be offering 28160's in the $200 - $225 price range. He also stated that they are working with an overseas manufacturer so I suspect it is the same at Wheels Now...

So, it seems that repeated inquiries and demand is being noticed and at least a couple places I have found are going to be offering brand new single piece replacements...

This information may be out there already but I wanted to post it anyhow to increase the awareness...

Thanks and have a great day!!!

With more info this post could be even more helpful

Accuride part number 28160 is for a 22.5" X 6.75" (tubeless) wheel with 10 lugs on an 8.75" bolt circle and piloted on the 6.25" bore.

The bolt pattern is larger than the AD trucks use 7.25" and smaller than common semi truck wheels ~11.25". I call the 8.75" bolt circle "medium sized GM 10 lug" but I may be the only one. It is for sure a GM only thing, and they are larger and smaller than other 10 lug options...
Looks about like this old one https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/bDLWeU6bGkiAPaSd8yt3n9MTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=directlink

Accuride part number 28157 is a 22.5" X 6.75" (tubeless) wheel with 6 lugs on an 8.75" bolt circle, stud piloted "Budd" wheel (nominal 6.5" bore).

The 6 lug Budd wheels I think are still quite common to find used, so be sure to give it a good look before spending money on new ones.
They look about like this https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/zTrEuJRBbckRneVIuw5fKNMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=directlink

Saerch around on craigslist for the 6 bolt 22.5 wheels. I see them come up often and are usually cheap. I just picked up 2 with good 9r22.5 tires for 20 bucks each.

I do not think it was common for theses bolt patterns to change over to alcoa's. I have only seen 2 sets of alcoa's in 6 bolt pattern. One on a truck on the internet and the set on my truck. Alcoa stopped making them in the 1984. I have never seen a 10 bolt GM pattern alcoa wheel.

I've never seen the medium sized GM 10 lug Alcoa wheels, I'd assume they never made them.
They did however make aluminum 19.5" 10 lug on 7.25" wheels, quite hard to find now though I have found some (not for me).
The 6 Lug Budd alcoa's are alos hard to find, last set I've seen were on a motor home/RV. Which is a good place to look for the small 10 lug 19.5" as well.

This is why I am looking for the Accuride 28160's...because they appear to be the only one-piece 22.5" wheel that will fit on my C60.

I've been doing the ebay, Craigslist and junkyard searches in my state of Colorado as well as surrounding states yet have come up short.

Everyone says they're out there for cheap money but I have yet to find any...so if anyone does have a lead on 6 of them I'd appreciate a note...

They're out there the trouble is finding them. That medium sized GM 10 lug pattern is not nearly as common as other choices and being only on some years and model range of GM trucks and not any other makes increases the difficulty of finding them used.

I agree with Grigg, the 6 lug 22.5's are out there. Find a junk yard that has school busses and start looking! Stop in at the local school bus garage and ask if they have any in their wheel pile...you never know what they have laying around.
